Why I love Hello Kitty

Hello Kitty: She was born the year after I was (1974), but I didn't REALLY become a fan of her until I was an adult. To me, Hello Kitty represents a strong and independent female. She can be whoever she wants to be and do whatever she wants to do without any limitations. She can be seen as anything from a beauty queen to a punk rocker. She does not care what others think about her because she is just HERSELF!
From Wikipedia,  "Spokespeople for Sanrio have said that Hello Kitty does not have a mouth because they want people to "project their feelings onto the character" and "be happy or sad together with Hello Kitty."[18][6] Another explanation Sanrio has given for her lack of a mouth is that she "speaks from the heart." "
You can find pretty much anything with Hello Kitty on it. Clothing, accessories, bedding, stuffed animals, household appliances, and yes, even cars and houses!!! Hello Kitty is a familiar childhood "friend" and I am very fond of her. If you don't get it, then you don't get it, but I certainly do. Now that I have a young daughter, our fondness of Hello Kitty is something that we bond over. Hello Kitty is a such a cute, special, bold, independent, smart character. I think Hello Kitty will be around for a looooong time.
I LOVE HELLO KITTY! <3 Erica
